hi All,
i have been experiencing power cuts quite frequently these days and today was really horrible. There were a total of 3.5 hrs of load shedding, way above the govt specified 2 hours for tier 2 towns such as Trichy.
These power cuts can be quite annoying esp when u meddling with ur system cos then u gotta save what ever u r doing and switch off the system and all this in record time. [ probably u would have gathered an idea abt my UPS's capability by now...:) ]
After the initial minutes of irritation that i experience, i start to find myself cursing my country for pushing me, forcefully, into the stone ages. How can we still not have found a solution to the power problem till now. Why hasn't capacity been augmented till now. Could we have brought more private players into the picture. Or how abt more active procurement of power from the national grid esp given the current political dynamics where the central govt is heavily dependent on the ministers from Tamilnadu for just staying in power.
At the end of the day, we only have un answered questions and agony. I guess thats something we have to bear with for being born in this country...

hey i didnt say i want to "escape from this country"..all i am trying to say is that we must put an end to these problems...:)
Had this been the jackass who posted on my blog, you could have expected something like- "How can you say that you have to bear with this just because you are an Indian? The youth of today is blah this blah that... ... ... ... ..." (I won't waste more energy!)
But seriously dude, I understand. I heard SASTRA has declared Tues and Fri off just cos of the power shutdown. Sat and Sun ll be working. I don't get this. How long will we it take to augment... And you have a point. It's high time we privatize such stuff...
And yeah, tht jerks yet to reply. I ll keep you updated. Keep posting, cherio!
good thinking!
i happened to go to a place- a village near tanjore. i stayed there say- for 6 hrs.. ppl with whom we were stayin told us tht they had no power- i mean they get power only for an hr appx.. n they r farmers..
i saw this dvd of mr. cho's magazine's(thuglaq) annual day celebrations. narendra modi was the chief guest. he was giving a speech on the reforms tht he brought to gujrat. the scheme called "jyothi gram" has been introduced to enable non- stop, uninterrupted- power supply for farmers.. ( a frnd of mine frm ahmedabad confirmed this claim- for she happens to be a journalist)it made me feel why could nt we have sme thing like this happen in tn?
note- i m bt bjp supporter.. i hate rss n bjp..
the situation in coimbatore still worse and it is unlikely to be resolved. see this: http://powercutstn.blogspot.com/
